Lenten Program – 2026
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross will be held every Friday night at 6:30pm throughout Lent commencing Friday20 February and concluding on Friday 27 March.
Lent is a penitential season of prayer, self-denial and helping others. In this way, the whole church prepares for Easter with those who are to be baptised. Other celebrations in Lent (e g marriage) must take account of the spirit of penance, musical instruments are only used to sustain singing and floral decorations are very simple.
Catholics are obliged to received holy communion at least once a year, in Australian between Ash Wednesday and Trinity Sunday.

Do You Want To Fast This Lent?
In the words of Pope Francis.....

Fast from hurting words and say kind words.
Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude.
Fast from anger and be filled with patience.
Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope,
Fast from worries and have trust in God.
Fast from complaints and contemplate simplicity.
Fast from pressures and be prayerful.
Fast from bitterness and fill your hearts with joy.
Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others.
Fast from grudges and be reconciled.
Fast from words and be silent so you can listen!

A Lenten Reflection
A man looked around himself in a city street and saw a little girl poorly dressed and shivering and
almost starving. He was angry with God and demanded “Why don’t you do somethin about this?” But God did not answer.
The man went on and saw a wretched old man in the gutter. Again he cried out “Why don’t you do something? But God was silent. In the middle of the night God spoke to the man. He said gently. I have already done something about these things I made you with you with eyes to see, ears to hear and strong hands to help.”
